In all likelihood, robotics will lead to a revolution in our lifestyle similar to internet or mobile phone. In this context, assistive robotics is currently one of the most invested fields which leads to the design of new products with large diversity. Assistive robots have applications in industrial field as well as for patients and the elderly with mobility impairments. They free people from much labor and the burdens of many kinds of manual work. However, today they are often heavy, bulky with limited torque and power. It should be noted that such devices are in the preliminary period of development and relatively few concepts have reached the commercialization stage. The aim of this project is to develop wearable walking assist devices with bodyweight support analogous to human musculoskeletal system. In other words, it is intended to develop a robotised suit which can reproduce the muscle functions via modern actuation means as for example electroactive polymer actuators.
