Resources & Databases

IVC/IRCCyN research group develops several experimental ressources facilities to study human visual perception, these ressources are open for collabarative projects.
Some Databases (contents, human judgement, saliency map ...) are available for download ....follow the links

Image and video quality assessment

  • The IVC team has test rooms in according to international recommendations (ITU-R BT 500-11 for example), they have been used in different Test Plan of the Video Quality Expert Group (VQEG).

  • IRCCyN/IVC-Toyama database (LCD)

The IRCCyN/IVC subjective scores on the Toyama database composed by 14 original images and 182 distorted images in jpeg and jpeg2000 coding. Made in collaboration with Toyama university who released also a database using CRT display, both databases are quite useful to check metrics robustness along different viewing conditions.

A 512x512 pixels color images database. This database is composed by 10 original images and 235 distorted images were generated from 4 different processings (JPEG, JPEG2000, LAR coding and blurring).

       Video database

A 1080i50 videos database. This database is composed by 24 original sequences and 168 distorted videos by h264 coding.

A SD videos database. This database is composed by 20 original sequences and 80 distorted videos by h264 coding with transmission errors. The h264 streams and the eyetracker data are available for this database.

3D TV and human factors

  • The 3D activities of the IVC team have started a long time before the current hype of 3DTV. The work is focused on the influence of the modern technology on the human observer. In particular, 3DTV adds several constraints and additions to the previously measured video quality.  Works are underway to reliably measure  discomfort in an objective way as visual fatigue.
Our unique 3D platform with its multitude of display and measurement equipment, including optometric devices, in a standardized viewing environment allows us to develop and compare different technologies and subjective test methods.

Visual attention

  • This platform allows to work on the visual attention with material (4 different eyetracker devices) and software which record the eye gaze and analyze it to generate saliency map or other information on visual attention.

  • selected databases:

- IRCCyN/IVC Eyetracker 2006 05
An eyetracker on images database. This database is composed by eyetracker data associated to 27 original still images.

- IRCCyN/IVC Eyetracker Berkeley Database
A 481x321 pixels images database. This database is composed by eyetracker data associated to 80 original still images.

- IRCCyN/IVC Eyetracker SD 2008 11 Database
A SD videos database. This database is composed by 51 distorted videos by h264 coding. The eyetracker data are available for this database.
