MODGRAPH Probabilistic graphical models for integration of complex data and discovery of causal models in biology monday 8 june 2009

Description [top] |
This satellite meeting aims at providing an opportunity for researchers in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology and Mathematics, to meet and discuss the use of probabilistic graphical models to tackle problems in the fields of Biology and Medical Research. Probabilistic graphical models offer an adapted framework to infer knowledge from data whose part is uncertain. Regarding the causality concept, these models have proven useful to exhibit data dependencies, as well as predicting experiment designs. Thus, the graphical model formalism is naturally the core of a flourishing research field. During the satellite meeting, conferences and talks will cover a range of recent developments and works under development, as well as applications, in relation with machine learning and statistical inference performed in the graphical model framework used for biology or biomedical research. key-words : complex data-mining, probabilistic graphical models, bayesian networks, statistical inference, data analysis |

Call for papers [top] |
Instructions to authors : The contribution will consist in a synthesis (two to three pages). The text will start with a short abstract and the mention of key-words. Then, it will present the issue studied and its context, the proposed solution and the results obtained, if work progress allows it. Finally, the contribution will include a brief bibliography. Tables and figures are wellcome. The text of the contribution will preferably be written in English. However, writting the contribution in French is allowed. The authors are required to use the following templates: rtf template, LaTeX template (tex, cls). To submit a contribution, please send an e-mail to modgraph, with subjet "submission". Important dates : monday 16 february 2009 : opening date for submissions to satellite meeting MODGRAPH monday 23 march 2009, 24:00: deadline submission to MODGRAPH saturday 28 march 2009 : notification to authors |
Registration [top] |
Registration is free but mandatory. The registration to the satellite meeting is separate from that to JOBIM. To register, please send an e-mail to modgraph, with subject "registration" The author or the co-author of an accepted communication who is designated as the speaker will have to confirm her/his registration to the meeting, sending an e-mail to modgraph, with subject "confirmation" .
